"Add existing backup" failed for .tibx backup
When moving from the ATI 2020 Beta code to the GA version I deleted the Beta product rather than updating in place. The new installation new nothing of the backups I took during the Beta test. No great surprise, so I tried adding them with "Add existing backup". I was told the backup was an unsupported type.
This was on a semi-"production" laptop with few backup tasks. I wanted a good backup so I created a new task and am backing up right now. When the backup is done I'll try adding an FTP backup from the Beta test. Since FTP backups still use .tib files I may have more success. Of course, FTP backups have their own peculiar sets of issues so I won't be surprised if I still have problems.
I think I will do an upgrade in place on my "test" PC. I have many more backups there. I'll see what the upgrade does with them.

I was able to add the FTP backup with (almost) no problem. "Almost" because the ATI GUI looked like it was doing nothing for about 20 minutes. If I hadn't been monitoring network traffic and noticed a lot of FTP traffic I would have assumed the function had failed. Now that I have the FTP backup task reconfigured, I'm taking an TFP backup. When the backup is don'e I'l try the Verify you suggested. I'll try a couple other things, too. I'm almost sure the "Add existing backup" worked during the Beta test.
By the way, I did an upgrade in place - i.e., installing ATI 2020 on top of the Beta code - and everything seems to work fine.

Patrick, thanks for the update on this issue. Responsiveness can be an issue when dealing with "remote" locations.

Yes, that worked. It's still doing the Validate, but it added the task. In the new task I added, I used the same destination as the original task used so I could do an "Open location" to point to the old backups. The validation currently says "2 m remaining", but this is the validation I ran before where ATI added a minute to the time remaining every 2 or 3 minutes. (That's 2 or 3 wall clock minutes, not ATI minutes.) It seems to be doing the same thing again so I assume the validation will take over an hour.

I can confirm that ATI 2020 no longer scans local storage for backups when doing a clean installation. I does identify cloud backups for the particular device but there is no configuration or history.
I successfully imported the saved settings and it works well. (Mind you on one of the 3 PCs I tried it on ATI crashed almost immediately after the import; but everything was OK when restarted the App.

After the verify (which took 2 hours 55 minutes) I was able to reconfigure the backup task and I'm currently running it. The activity history was lost, of course. When the current backup is done I'll take a look at Recovery information and see what backups are associated with the task.

The only way to retain backup history is to do an in place upgrade (not recommended when previously running beta). Save settings does not (for some reason) save the task history.

I just installed 2020 Release. I first saved the settings and then removed the beta.
When I restored the settings, all the backup jobs were there but not only did they show no activity history, the recovery tabs show nothing to recover.
For the three jobs (one disk full only, one disk differential, one file and folders incremental), I ran the Add existing backup. It worked for all to give me access to the backup files. I was concerned about adding an existing backup when the backup job is there but it was not a problem.
For the files and folders backup, I also got an Activity page filled in as well as could be determined.
For the jobs using .tibx files, the activity tab still remains empty.

It appears you have to run Validate to get access to the content on the recovery TAB; also to get many of the functions associated with "right click" on the v next to task name.
Also, for some reason my nonstop backup was not retrieved (see this thread) and after manual import (got error message) it will not run.

Just testing to post to this topic.
I got an email informing me that Ekaterina posted here but the link in the email failed and I see that her post does not appear.
Ekaterina, maybe you will repost it. Or maybe it was intentionally deleted.

I am sure I saw the same thing - rather confusing.

I got that earlier today but figured either I had done something wrong or that something was being changed on the forum.

Hello guys,
I've reported the issue to the RnD, looks like the internal database is not updated after adding backup to the list, while validating the backup puts the info about new data to the db.

Thanks Ekaterina, I thought there was something odd about the behaviour.
