Adobe ACR not working well with Acronis 2020 installed on computer, but not running.
I would like to add the above to the forum for comments.
I bought an upgrade to my Acronis software and about the same time I noticed that my Adobe ACR conversion program had slowed down, sliders not working well etc.
Tried all manner of improvements including later CPU, the computer has 32 MB of memory and a Nvidia graphics card.
Finally after trying to remove Acronis by removing it from the list of start up programs to no effect, I uninstalled Acronis 2020 from the computer completely.
Adobe ACR in its latest 12.3 version now runs perfectly.
I am very unhappy that Acronis apparently is running the program in back ground even when not called up.
Comments appreciated.

Steve is correct; Active protection closely monitors programs that manipulate video and graphics, and the result is they crawl rather than sprint. Whitelisting the relevant *.exe file(s) will solve the problem. It has been like this since the feature was introduced in ATI 2017 and is not a addressed in ATI 2021.

Is there a way to disable Acronis Active Protection from running?

William, you can turn AAP off within the main ATI 2020 GUI but it will still leave background services running though these should not interfere with anything!
