After Update: no more backups with a bitlocked system
Before updating in April everything runs fine.
After the update: peculiar errors e.g. "Backup Medium not found, connect external drive, last backup faulty, ...".
First idea: may be my elderly external HDD is dead.
New 1TB external SSD: failed creating bootable partition. Backup: stops, starts, stops in neverending cycle.
After reading some (sorry) incomprehenseble hints I found the snag:
Acronis is just not working with a bitlocked system. Deactivating will not be enough, you must open up your system.
My System: Lenovo P51, I7, 32 GB, 1TB internal SSD, Win 10 Enterprise. It was bitlocked since I bought it 2 years ago (Notebook!).
My question: why worked Acronis fine from Jan until April update?
OK, I've got a full backup, no rescue volume + new BitLocker key.
How long does it take to unlock a 1TB system disk? Print a new key, wait for locking.
That is for the bin. Great product!
Any help available or is "Compatible with BitLocking" just cheapest marketing?

How exactly are you doing your backup here?
Are you running the backup task from ATI 2020 in Windows, or after booting from rescue media? How many drives are encrypted by BitLocker?
Is it just the Windows OS drive, or is the destination drive also encrypted? Can you create an Acronis System Report zip file and share it with us via a cloud service such as Google Drive, OneDrive, Dropbox etc.
Hi Steve,
I'm running ATI 2020 in Win, simple backup task, complete system.
Never tested the rescue media.
Encrypted drive is OS / boot drive, it's the only one in my notebook. Target drive ist not encrypted by BitLocker, but via AES by ATI during backup.
A system / failure report should be present with Acronis.
I don't like the idea of publishing some data contained in the system report.
Which part do you need?
Thanks,
rh

RH, would you be happy to send me a link to the system report via a private message?
I can read such messages via the notification email I receive though cannot reply via that route.
