ATI 2021 detects hundreds of vulnerabilities in Chrome, even though I don't have Chrome installed
Hello,
I didn't see a category for ATI 2021, so I am posting here. ATI has detected hundreds of vulnerabilities in Chrome, dating back to 2018 on a computer that didn't even have Chrome installed. I went ahead and installed Chrome, hoping it would clear up the problem, but nothing has changed.
What can I do to get rid of all these detected vulnerabilities?
Thanks,
Rick

Are you sure Chrome was never installed on this computer? If it was at any time and then uninstalled there are likely leftovers from it that trigger these detection's.

Yes, I suppose it's possible that Chrome had been installed on this computer in the past, or that it really is Chromium-based Edge that appears as Chrome. However, Edge is up-to-date and I went ahead and installed Chrome, just to make sure it was current. Either way, nothing has changed.
I don't see any way to export the list of vulnerabilities, but I can try to insert some screen shots in this message. I'm just putting a couple of representative screen shots. There are hundreds of these.

Rick,
Your machine obviously has had Chrome browser installed at some point going back to at least 2018 as dated in your first screenshot image, first line CVE-2018-16068. That number, as well all the rest, are vulnerability case numbers of reported security issues. Some of these numbers a big concerns for home users and others are not.
Below is a link to the National Vulnerability Database where you can learn more about each listed number reported. In general these are meant to advise the user of a potential security vulnerability that my exist on your system. If these are all Chrome related then you might try uninstalling Chrome with something like Revo Uninstaller and letting that app scan the registry and system for leftovers after the process and then removing those leftovers. This should remove the entries after a subsequent vulnerability scan.
I would point fingers at the Chrome uninstaller as being poorly written leaving gobs stray tidbits around causing this issue for you. The upside, if there is one, is that at least you know the scan is working and finding legitimate reported cases.
