ATI 24.5.1.22510 does not import the previous version settings.

Thread solved

When you upgrade the ATI from 24.4.1.21400 to version 24.5.1.22510, no previous settings are imported.

P.S.
It is not possible to create a request for technical support (https://www.acronis-infoprotect.ru/support) because it is not sent.

WS,

Doing an upgrade on two of my systems so far I have not seen this issue.  All settings remained as they were prior to the upgrade.

Can you provide more detail for this issue?

What location are your backup files stored?

Is that location a local one or is it the Cloud?

My backup files are located on a local drive.
I think that the problem is not related to where the files are located.

Are you  logged into Windows with admin rights?

See the ATI 2020 User Guide: Minimum system requirements

Elevation with UAC good?

It may be good enough to run ATI but it needs to be installed as Administrator to ensure that all the correct authorities / privileges are granted to all the application components & services.

Could you provide the relevant documentation item?

See my earlier post with a link to the documentation from the ATI 2020 User Guide.

In your earlier post  written: "You need to have administrator privileges to run Acronis True Image 2020".

I have this privileges.

That else?

I was only interested in two questions:

1. Developers are aware of this error?

2. When will the version that corrected this error?

As far as I have seen, no one else is reporting this issue but you?  I have upgraded my own laptop from 21400 to 22510 without seeing this issue, as has Enchantech who first replied.

The developers will only be made aware if you report the issue by opening a support ticket direct with Acronis to tell them, and that is assuming that you can recreate the error too?

This is a user forum, the MVP's are also users - we do not work for Acronis.

One user wrote me personal message: " I have the same problem...previous settings (full backup, custom scheme, auto cleanup after 10, validate after creation, reserve copy)  reverted to default."

Yes, of course, I can reproduce this bug.
I tested it.

If the form on the page https://account.acronis.com/#/support worked, I would issue a support ticket, and not write to the forum.

That is not the same problem as you are describing here!  I too have that problem with the settings being lost and it is a problem caused by the Acronis cloud Dashboard server(s) from an update to the servers back on 22nd October.  See forum topic:  True Image 2020 -Backup option settings loss - with hundreds of users reporting the same!

If this is your problem, then we have misunderstood what you have been saying and the other topic has all the details you need to stop the settings being lost until Acronis deploy a fix for their Dashboard servers.  The easiest option is to stop the Acronis Managed Machine Mini Service and set this to Disabled start to prevent further settings loss.  Be aware that updating to a new build will re-enable the service!

Yes, I am logged in as Administrator.

Quite possible.
But since I reproduced the problem 2 times, I'm sure it exists.

I'm sure Enchantech also logged in as Administrator.

Acronis True Image constantly have any problems with UAC.
I know about one other UAC problem, but it's small, so I didn't write about it.

Same trouble here on 2 of my 4 installs/Updates so far.
Method of image reverts from "Complete" to "Incremental".

And removes the number of images to keep.

And removes the check mark for "verify" the image.

But since I reproduced the problem 2 times, I'm sure it exists.

Let's go back to the start with this one.  What exactly is the issue you are able to reproduce?

What exactly is different between being on build 21400 to being upgraded to 22500 for you?

What steps are you following when this issue arises?

Backup Scheme settings return to default.

Notifications settings return to the default state (ie, they are not filled).

Steve Smith wrote:

I am logged in as User.

I am using 24.4.1.21400.

Download and run 24.5.1.22510

Check - no previous settings are imported.

Try to import previous settings (zip file) through the interface - they are not imported.

WS, so if I understand you correctly, all your backup tasks are brought forward to the new build version of ATI as expected, but you lose all the backup task configuration settings, with these being reset back to Acronis defaults, i.e. any Full or Differential tasks become Incremental, automatic cleanup is disabled, Email notifications are turned off etc.

This is the same issue as forum topic:  True Image 2020 -Backup option settings loss - with hundreds of users reporting the same.

When you do any upgrade of ATI, this will reset all Acronis Services to their default state too, and in doing so, will enable and start the Acronis Managed Machine Mini Service which causes all the settings to be lost / reset to defaults.

Steve Smith, why then does not work import previously saved settings?

I suspect that the import does work but then gets reset immediately because you have the MMMS service enabled and running on your computer.

Try stopping the service, set it to Disable Start up then retry importing your settings.

Steve Smith, MANY THANKS!!!
