ATI discrepancies between disk and what it shows.

Thread needs solution

Well, this is really odd.

First yesterday my wife's backup job said there was NO SPACE on the drive. True, for some reason ATI didn't delete some old ones.

In another thread I did bring up the subject that she had lost some settings. Unbeknownst to either of us, her backup type switched to Incremental from CUSTOM/Full with 4 backups kept.

Was able to clean that up and have only 4, or so I thought.

Last night I tried to remove 2 old backups, ATI said it couldn't.

Got some time on here PC today and I was able to via ATI???

When look at the backup folder and using the CLEAN BACKUPs on pulldown for the job I see some differences?

Screen Captures can't be uploaded it seems, will do in an a reply, both the FILE - UPLOAD doesn't work (lets me select file and then responds 'The file could not be uploaded.' and there is not icon's on the top to load captures?

OK, can do it here as I have an icon and File Upload works???

This is what I saw on the CLEAN UP choice. The LAST two I could NOT delete last night but could now?

Note the two for this month, 880GB's each, yet the older ones were only 590GB's?

Now what I see when using Explorer to look at the backup drive location:

All in the 560GB range?

Don't forget, this was the job that had lost (or had some changed) settings that I corrected to what they should be and ran the job on 1/3. Not sure if this played into this or not?

I do NOT think we need anything off of these backups? Would it be wise to just delete all the backups, even manually, and the backup job and then create a NEW one and start over? Or is there a way to 'repair' this?

Hello Irv,

thank you for your posting! In our internal sources I've found information about a known issue where sizes for the incremental slices are not calculated correctly in the cleanup wizard (internal ID for reference TI-178715). According to the description, this issue occurs in Incremental, Differential and Version chain backup schemes.
Would you mind sending us a system report from your PC as a feedback? I'll add it to the respective ticket for investigation.
