Automatic Cleaning cleanse not in the specified duration

Thread needs solution

Hey,

my Acronis is not cleaning the backups properly on one computer. In the settings I configured that it cleanse everything older than 150 days. But the oldest files now are from 11th February. It should have deleted everything older than 14th March. At first I thought it has something to do with the full backups, so it does not delete full backups when there are differential backups depending on those. But it deleted the full backup from 10th February and the next full backup was on 13th March. So I have allmost a month of differential backups that are not usefull anymore (what is no Problem to me, when it just would delete those it should delete).

Does anyone has an idea whats causing that problem? For now I will delete the backups manually, but in future it would be nice if this works automatically as it should.

Thanks in advance,

David

David, the 150 days doesn't start counting until after the next new Full backup has been successfully created.

I have never used this particular option for automatic cleanup as it is just too complicated to use.  The option I do use is to 'Store no more than 2 recent versions / version chains' which is much easier / simpler to use / understand.  Again, nothing is deleted until a 3rd Full backup has been created successfully, but the deletion is immediate at that point rather starting a count of 150 days!
