Backup Scheme settings resetting

Thread needs solution

I have 40 licenses just for true image 2020 many for older versions. Through all of these versions I have had scene a very particular bug where the backup scheme settings are reset. In particular for how often to create a full version and delete version chains older the ## days. I have even created and saved my schemes. Backup method Incremental, Create a full version after 15 incremental versions, delete version chains older than 30 days. 2 weeks later I get an error that my drive is full so I check the settings and the backup scheme goes now showing custom, and the create full version after every 5 incremental versions and automatic cleanup is off.

Fortunately this does not happen on all of my setups but a few is still to many and  I need help on finding a resolution. I do not have issue paying for some support, but I am not interested in purchasing a non perpetual license.

Any help is appreciated. I tried doing a search but nothing came up.

Ed, welcome to these public User Forums.

This is an Acronis issue - see forum topic: True Image 2020 -Backup option settings loss

I can only recommend that you and any other affected users contact Arpita Ghosh who is the new Acronis Product Manager for these home products! (Arpita.Ghosh@acronis.com).

In terms of remedies to avoid being hit by this same issue (assuming that Acronis don't take action to ensure it never happens again!) then you can do the following:

Open Windows Services (services.msc) and set the Acronis Managed Machine Service Mini from Automatic start to Manual start (or Disabled).

In the ATI GUI (assuming you have a Perpetual license) sign out from your Acronis Account.

Doing the above should prevent the Acronis Online Dashboard servers from sending out any data that would result in resetting your Backup task options back to defaults again!
