Blocking Acronis network activity

Thread needs solution

Can someone explain to me why, if I block Acronis services access to the internet using a firewall does it slow down performance with the backups. Backups seem very sluggish compared to when you let Acronis processes connect to the internet.

Richard, welcome to these public User Forums.

The only reason that I can suggest is that blocking the connections via your firewall is causing the associated applications to go into some sort of error retry for those connections.

Rather than doing things in this way, why not just stop / disable the Acronis Services involved instead, i.e. the Acronis Managed Machine Mini Service which communicates to the Online Dashboard, plus opt out of the Customer Experience Program to stop analytics data being sent using the Google Analytics feature!
