Boot Error Acronis True Image WD Edition

Thread needs solution

Hello there,

I used this program a while ago to clone my old NVME to a new WD SN750.

The progress was very easy and everything worked well, until today.

I got the "inaccessible boot device" error. I did a thing that may fcked it up.

I use the program "autoruns" to deactivate some programs from startup. So yesterday I scrolled thru taksmanager to see whats going on to my CPU on Idle and then I found that "Acronis" is running. So I thoght why is it running I dont need that to be running. So I went to autoruns and searched for Acronis and disabled all I found. Now I think that some of those files there are important to run my boot device.

Hopefully someone here knows a fix for that specific Problem.

I can switch to an other machine and can try to unfck the "Autoruns", but I don't think that will work.

Peter, welcome to these public User Forums.

Do you have a backup of your system from when it was working without issues?  If yes, then I would recommend recovering the system from that backup.

Otherwise, you could try booting the PC in Windows Safe Mode then reverse the changes you made via Autoruns if possible.

Thanks for the tips, but I can't boot into Safe Mode. I'm pretty sure I did some restore points in the past, but it seems like they didnt got copied.

I can go into CMD and copied some important datas, but one thing was weird to reach "Users" I had to use x:\ instead of c:\ is that normal in that case?

I will disasamble the drive and try what I can do in my other machine.

Peter, did you ever create any bootable rescue media for your ATI WD version software?  If yes, then you could use this to boot your PC which would allow you to make a backup of your data.

Any time that you boot from Windows PE media, the boot drive uses drive x:\ as this is a virtual drive used for the boot process.

If you remove the drive from the PC then you could connect it via a USB adapter or dock to another working PC to try to access your data in that way too.

Stupid software Acronis True Image for Western Digital the backup processo occurs ok but on restore corrupt disk an not boot again. I will unistall this stupid software.

Dear Edney Silva,
Recovery is the core of our business and we take all recovery issues very seriously. If you have used Acronis software to back up your data, you can contact Acronis support team, so that our engineers can help.

For issues with the OEM software, you need to contact the vendor who's hardware contained the OEM software, whose product contained the Acronis OEM software, as they are best equipped to understand the specific OEM application as well as the relationship between the Acronis software and their product. Acronis works closely with the OEM on investigating and solving issues that arise.
