Bootable media couldn't detect Dell Ultraspeed Drive (NVMe PCIe SSD drive)

Thread needs solution

I tried to backup an Windows system image by bootable media of TrueImage Home 2021 build 39287.

But it couldn't detect a drive of the OS image.

The Windows is installed in a Dell Ultraspeed drive (PCIe NVMe SSD).

If anyone knows a solution for this, please let me know how.

welcome to these public User Forums.

Which type of bootable rescue media were you trying to use here?

For the ATI 2018 & later version rescue media, there are 3 different versions available:
Simple:  created based on your Windows Recovery Environment for WinPE media.
Advanced: created based on Windows ADK (or AIK for earlier OS versions) - WinPE media.
Advanced: created based on a small Linux distro OS (BusyBox) or created from the .ISO CD image download from your Acronis Account page.

If you were using Linux based rescue media then this has a number of known limitations when being used with newer NVMe devices, and won't work if RAID is being used.

The recommendation is to create the 'Simple' version of rescue media that uses files & device drivers from WinRE and produces WinPE media that is more likely to see your NVMe drive.

If that simple media still doesn't see the drive, then you need to inject the required device drivers that are used by your Dell Ultraspeed drive - these may include Intel RST VMD drivers etc.

You can also use the new MVP Assistant - New 2.0 with Rescue Media Builder (New Version 2.2.1) tool to more easily manage injecting device drivers into the rescue media.
