Bug: Acronis 2020 RescueMedia unresponsive while it scans drives
I have been using Acronis 2018 (build 12510) for years now to back up my system (I boot into Rescue Media). I decided to try Acronis 2020 this morning in hopes of switching to it when I roll my backups on April 1st. I booted into the Rescue Media I created with it (WinPE) and it was unresponsive while it scanned through all my drives. After spending about 20 minutes just watching it scan my external 8TB WD drive, I had to reset the machine to get out of it. Acronis 2018 does not do this--it's usable instantly upon start.
I'm experiencing this with Acronis 2020 build 22510, which surprisingly is the latest (November 2019). This is unusable for me. I don't have that kind of time to sit and wait for it to do something that it has never done before; even if I did, it's just not acceptable.
I skipped Acronis 2019 entirely because its Rescue Media wasn't behaving in a way that made me trust it (e.g., reporting inaccurate information about a restore). And now 2020 isn't even ready to use until it does a detailed review of every sector available to the machine. On my system, that's a substantial amount.
Consider this a bug report, I guess. I'll keep an eye out for a new build of 2020, but barring that, I'll keep using 2018, since it is proven to protect my data. Upgrading beyond 2020 is out of the question too, I guess. That's two versions I've paid for that I cannot use for various reasons.

Hello Bob,
sorry to know about the issue! Added this topic as a vote for the existing change request (internal ID for ref TI-191608 Turn off the auto-detection of backups in bootable media (all types of BM)

Hi,
same for me here, it took about 15 minutes to find my backups (on 2 different drives), but finally it found them, no need to restart, although I was very close to do it...
Very slow. Please do something !
By the way, using Paragon HDM on other machine, does it in a flash.
Good day to you.
