Can Acronis 2020 handle my backup strategy?

Thread needs solution

Here is my current backup strategy:

1. I have two external drives, with a capacity of two terabytes each. I have four computers on the network which I backup using Acronis TrueImage 2017.

2. The backups are scheduled to occur at 3 AM each Sunday. The Acronis backup task generally begins when I turn on each PC.

3. I have sufficient free space on each PC to store 2-3 backup images. I maintain the prior month's and prior quarter's backup image locally on each PC.

4. On Monday or Tuesday, I copy the Acronis backup images to separate partitions on the external drive. I also use Robocopy to backup data files for each computer to separate partitions on the external drive.

4. At the end of each month,  I delete an old backup image so there is sufficient free space to create a new Acronis image.

5. Every other month, I rotate my external drive to off-site storage. I retrieve the older drive, and update the backup data files and Acronis images on that drive.

I purchased license upgrades for Acronis 2020 during 2020. It seems doubtful that I will ever be able to use the new version, due to the necessity of frequently deleting backup images. That is based on the responses to
my forum post

Is there any way that my backup strategy could be handled by Acronis TrueImage 2020?

Rick, your backup approach could work with ATI 2020 but will need some modifications, especially if you are manually deleting unwanted backup files via Explorer etc.

If you set appropriate automatic cleanup rules for your backup tasks so that Acronis manages all the files including deleting older qualifying files when the cleanup rules are satisfied, and setup Robocopy to mirror the backup folders from your PC's to the backup storage location after whitelisting Robocopy to Acronis Active Protection to allow it to do the mirror copying from source to target, then that should work.

The alternative option instead of using Robocopy would be to setup separate backup tasks from your PC's direct to your backup storage location in addition to any backups to local drives.  The key downside to doing this is if you are rotating the external drives which requires a separate backup task per each different drive being used.
