Can One Give Custom Name to Backup as One Could in v.2015?

Thread needs solution

I posted this question yesterday, but it never got published - maybe I messed up.

Anyway the subject line should be self-explanatory but I've added screenshots of my 2015 and the trial 2020 to illustrate the issue. As far as I can tell, one -- cannot -- give a custom name in v2020 prior to hitting "Proceed" as one could in v.2015 and earlier versions.

I have v.2015 running on my Windows 7 64-bit SSD, the v.2020 on my Windows 10 64-bit SSD (version 7 upgraded to 10, so still a lot of work to do on it). I was not able to successfully install 2015 on the latter.

One can see in the 2020 screenshot of the listing that it fished out both the Windows 7 via v.2015 .tib backups that were custom named. I like simple bold dates as shown (SEP 26a..... and SEP 26b.....), and the v.2020 ones above and below those that were auto-named by TI.

This auto-naming has NO date on it, one has to check Windows folder for that. I hope there is a way to do custom naming before backing up in 2020 -- without having to create a new backup profile and settings -- and if so, please let me know where that function is.

Renaming them -- after --- they are done could confuse Acronis and it may not recognize them to list them or when I need to do a restore. Thanks.

Philip, welcome to these public User Forums.

The naming conventions used in ATI 2020 have caused a lot of concern among long-time users of ATI and there are still some unresolved issues with regards to the ability to rename tasks after creation.

You can change the default task name provided you do so before running the backup for the first time, but after which, renaming is not possible.

To change the name, do this as you create a new task while the cursor is flashing in the entry box showing the default name, or else click on the caret to the right of the name and select the rename option.
