Clone 2 ssd's to one.

Thread solved

how do I go about cloning 2 m-2 nvme 500gb drives to one 1tb drive with 2 drive letters "C" for os and "E" for other programs?

Joseph, welcome to these public User Forums.

You cannot use cloning for this type of migration - cloning is intended as a 1:1 disk duplication.

What you should be able to do is to make full disk backup of both your 500GB drives, then recover these backup separately to the new 1TB drive.

I would suggest doing the restore of the OS drive on its own to the new 1TB drive first, doing this as a disk level recovery so that the required hidden / system partitions are created correctly on the new drive, and that you test that this will boot into Windows without any issues.

Once that first drive has been migrated successfully, then shrink the main C: partition on the new 1TB drive to make space for the partition E: from the second drive.

You could then recover the E: backup to that free space and could use a Files & Folders backup for doing this if you wish, allowing you to create the E: partition on the new drive first.

Thanks for your response.  This process worked./  Had a little problem with second drive "E".  Would not work using "files & folders".  Recovered main partition only and that worked.
