Clone to a different size SSD.
...and I just hit a mouse button and erased my question!!!!!!
I want to clone a two partition 500GB SSD to a new three partition 1TB SSD. Is there a standard way to do this?
My best idea is: clone two to two, making the new one small for the OS and BIG for the data. Then partition the BIG one into two afterwards. Even if I loose data, I can recopy it over without affecting the OS.
Thx, Jon

...well... actually I've already cloned 3 laptops successfully. Each had it's own little quirks. I always did it with the original still in the laptop, and the SSD connected by USB. The first, I learned about UEFI, the second actually booted the first time I swapped them, and the third was an older laptop and I had first changed the SSD to GPT when I should have left it MBR. Live and learn. They're all 3 working perfectly. In each case I also adjusted the partition sizes before cloning. No problem, so yes, I know what cloning is. That still leaves the question 'what if I want to go to 3 partitions from 2'? It will be SSD to SSD and GPT to GPT. I'm sure I can get it by trial and error, but if you have a suggestion, I may save some time.
Thx, Jon
