Cloning System Drive to a Partition on a Larger Drive

Thread needs solution

My OS is installed on a 500GB SSD. I wish to clone my OS drive to a 500GB partition on a 4TB magnetic drive. The 4TB magnetic drive has another partition containing data that I do not wish to lose. When I start the cloning operation, I'm warned that it will delete any existing partitions and data. Is there any way to clone my OS drive to the existing 500GB partition without losing data on the other partition?

Madrone, welcome to these public User Forums.

Sorry but a clone is a full disk duplication from the source drive to a target drive - you cannot do a clone of a drive to selected partitions on a target drive.  This first action of all clone operations will be to wipe the target drive in order to prepare the new partitions layout from the source drive.

You would need to make a Disk & Partitions backup from the source drive, then Recover that backup and partitions to the target drive.
