Cloning trouble NVMe M.2 form

Thread needs solution

Hi, I have trouble to clone: NVMe Kingston Predator 240GO (OS WIN10) to new WD SN750 1TB.

Each time after clone done, i remove Kingston NVMe and put SN750 to M.2 slot on board.

I select Boot manager in bios and start loading, blue screen... all of time

Any solution? Thanks!

Soft cloning: Acronis True Image 2020 with bootable media

OS: WIN 10 64x

MB: Gigabyte Z370

Gaming 7 CPU: Intel i7 8700K

MEM: 64g Corsair

Frederic, welcome to these public User Forums.

What type of Acronis rescue media are you using here? Is this Windows PE created using the Acronis Rescue Media Builder and the Simple method?

Ideally, I would recommend removing the current Kingston NVMe M.2 drive and installing the new WD NVMe M.2 drive in its place, connecting the Kingston drive externally, then booting from the Acronis WinPE rescue media, ensuring you are using UEFI boot mode from the BIOS for the media.

I would also strongly recommend that you have a full Disk backup of the Kingston drive on an external drive as a safety net.

Please also check the Log in the rescue media after any clone operation and save a copy of this by using right-click on the top date/time line shown.

Hi,

Use simple method.

Not have external drive for connect old M.2

But i have used another m.2 slot in board and not work.

Sorry my english.

Frederic, then I would suggest not using cloning but instead use Backup & Recovery.

Make a full Disk backup of the Kingston M.2 drive to an external drive.

Shutdown and remove the Kingston M.2 drive then replace it by the new M.2 drive.

Boot from your rescue media in UEFI mode with the external drive connected.

Recover your full Disk backup to the new M.2 drive.

KB 63295: Acronis True Image 2020: How to restore your computer with WinPE-based or WinRE-based media

When doing the restore of your backup, this needs to be done as a Disk & Partition restore and at the top Disk selection level.

Please see forum topic: [How to] recover an entire disk backup - and in particular the attached PDF document which shows a step-by-step tutorial for doing this type of recovery / restore.

No problems with your English - it is much better than any other language from me!

Hi,

I will try this way this weekend!

Thanks Steve!
