Convert .tibx to .tib

Thread solved

Hi. Is there any way to convert a .tibx file to a .tib file?

I generated backups of a PC using the latest version of Acronis (made .tibx files). Now, a client would like to restore the PC using these, but only has an older version supporting .tib files.

Thanks a lot!

Adam, the simple answer to your question is a resounding 'No!'

Any .tibx files would need to be restored by a version of Acronis that supports that file type and this should be the same as used to create the files or a later version with backwards compatibility.

You could create rescue media for the version used to create the backup and the client could use that rescue media for recovery.  Alternatively, your client could install a 30-day trial of the latest ACPHO version and create their own rescue media which would be subject to the limitations described in KB 2768: Trial version limitations of Acronis products which states the following (in the far right column dealing with bootable media).

You can only recover (restore) a backup when booted from Acronis Bootable Media, other options are disabled. Acronis Universal Restore is not available.
