Copied backup file cannot be added to backup
Acronis True Image 2021. During building a new system I first made backups to an external USB-HDD. No problem. Now I have the system working and want to continue to use my NAS for backups. I copied the *.tibx file from the external USB disk with robocopy to the NAS. At least file sizes in Windows explorer are identical. When I tried to add this file on the NAS to the backup to be able to continue making backups there, I get an error message:
Failed to add the backup to the backup list. The backup may be locked or corrupted. Also, make sure the folder contains the last volume of the backup, and does not contain a renamed copy of the same backup.
How to proceed best?
https://kb.acronis.com/content/40622 offers suggestions for the 2013 version. Do the solutions equally apply to the 2021 version?

Thanks for the help.
And what is the solution to the problem?
Yesterday I checked the MD5 checksums of the two files, one on a windows usb disk and one on a NAS (ext3 or ext4 file format). They were different, whatever that means. Since the files are big, it takes many hours to check.
Then I copied with Windows Explorer since I thought the robocopy copying process might have caused errors in the file. But also this gave the same error message when trying to add the file from the other location.
Now I created a new backup in the GUI and tried to add the copied file from the NAS to this backup. Again the same error message.
Should I delete the original backup from the GUI interface? Would this "unlock" the original backup file on the USB-HDD? Then copying it to the NAS and adding would work?

Franz, delete the original backup task from the GUI taking the option to only remove the task settings and leave the files alone, then retry adding in the file from the NAS. If there is a problem with the actual file then I would expect Acronis to report it as being corrupt rather than locked!

I tried that and got the error message
Failed to add the backup to the backup list. The backup may be locked or corrupted. Also, make sure the folder contains the last volume of the backup, and does not contain a renamed copy of the same backup.
So the error message does differentiate whether the file is locked or corrupted. I think the only way out of that problem is to create a new backup from scratch on the NAS...

Franz, since the introduction of tibx files, it has always been safest to create separate backups than to copy backup files. I schedule my own backups to different destinations, including my own Synology NAS and these can then maintain themselves using the normal options for automatic cleanup etc.
