Error Message Saying I'm Trying to Restore from the Same Partition
I have a desktop PC running Windows 10 with True Image 2020. I made an image in December of 2022. I am trying to put back the image I made last year. I get to the last part I am given the error message:
Cannot recover the partition because the backup files is on the same partition that you are going to recover. You can coy the backup file to another partition and try again.
My backup is located on my external hard drive and I've selected the internal SSD, so I don't understand why I am getting the message and am unable to proceed? Thanks for any help.

Thanks Steve. I appreciate the help. I rolled back my PC because it had slowed down due to a virus I believe, so I think it was just like a clean install. Interestingly, I installed True Image, but it would not accept my user name and password, so I was not able to use it. It did let me create a bootable USB drive that I used it to boot into the recovery process. After I selected and verified the recovery backup, and picked where to put it, when I hit next is where I got the error message. Thanks again.

Elzar, check what build of ATI 2020 you have installed as you need to be using build #38600 which Acronis released to allow correct activation with their servers after they made changes to security. This may be the reason for your user credentials being rejected.
If you can post any screen images of what you are seeing when booted in the rescue environment, that may help us understand what the issue here is? Try to capture an image showing all the disk partitions on either a Recovery or Backup panel.

Thanks Steve. I played around with it some more and got it to work, though I'm not sure what I did differently this time. Thanks again.
