Failure to activate.

Thread needs solution

I have just purchased a custom made desktop computer from Scan Computers which I am extremely pleased with. As I did with a gaming laptop bought two years ago from the same company, I also ordered Acronis true image. It was a sealed box version as was my laptop version, yet this new one rejects the serial number and when I try to register on Acronis site it says invalid. The program register screen won’t let me activate. I contacted support who told me to take a screen shot of the failure which I did, now all I get is that they are working on it. I did find the in program activation a total mystery. It rejected the serial code on the first letter alone, so I tried the complete alphabet then numbers from 1 to 0 as the first symbol, it rejected  them all. I  unfortunately didn't have any Viking runes on my keyboard to try. Support have as yet supplied no answer.

It turned out the answer was simple I typed out the serial code in notebook and copy pasted it into the activation screen and it activated. Maybe it was some little quirk on my computer that would not accept it when typed in, but the not valid message coming up when you type in one letter is peculiar.

Thanks for posting about this.

I prefer to use cut and past when I need to enter serial numbers; have not had to enter serial number for some years with True Image as the serial numbers are in my Account and are for subscriptions which renew without any input from me.

I prefer to purchase software directly from Acronis, as it is often cheaper to do so (particularly Cyber Monday sale); however, if you have a low internet connection or your ISP limits your downloads, buying a physical version may be preferable. I have relatively fast cable connection (95 Mbps/35 Mbps) with unlimited downloads so it is not an issue for me.
