File System Error Found
I have a Desktop and a Laptop. The Desktop backed up fine. The Laptop has an error message "File System Error Found", but a backup file was created. There are Red X's showing between the Laptop and the attached Hard Drive. Should I reinstall the Acronis Software (2020)? Email me if you want jabibas @ outlook.com Thanks, ~John

Be aware that CHDKS can only be run of partitions that have a drive letter assigned. Therefore, hidden partitions such as UEFI and System Restore cannot be tested without first assigning a drive letter to them. You could use MVP Assistant - New 2.0 with Rescue Media Builder (New Version 2.7.4) which automatically assigns drive letters to hidden partitions. Or you could try the drive manufacture's' disk utility to check the disk. @Steve Smith has put together a list of those utilities:
Dedicated diagnostic utilities from the disk manufacturers take the longest time to complete the checks, but provide the most accurate methods of checking whether the disk is good or needs replacement:
- Western Digital drives: Western Digital Dashboard
- Seagate disks: SeaTools for Windows
- HGST disks: HGST Windows Drive Fitness Test (WinDFT)
- Intel SSDs: Intel Memory and Storage Tool (GUI)
- Samsung drives: Samsung Magician
- ADATA drives: ADATA SSD ToolBox
- Kingston SSDs: Kingston SSD Toolbox, Kingston SSD Manager
- Transcend SSDs: Transcend SSD Scope
- Silicon Power disks: SP ToolBox
- Toshiba disks: Toshiba PC Diagnostic Tool Utility
- Crucial disks: Crucial Storage Executive
- SanDisk disks: SanDisk SSD Dashboard tool / SanDisk SSD Dashboard user guide
