FTP Cleanup oddity
The "Clean up versions" function for FTP backups claims all (or most) of the backup files are missing. The cleanup function itself works and will delete the files (as long as thee are not too many). The "before" and "after" attached files show this.
The display problem - declaring files missing - is not new with ATI 2020; it is the same in ATI 2019. (I did not actually try the cleanup in ATI 2019.)
Another irritation (that may be my own problem) is that the "Open location" function invokes Internet Explorer 11 when my default browser is FireFox. I would suspect I had missed some Windows configuration option ... except then it would have invoked Edge.

Patrick, when you create a new topic don’t add any images or files at first. Open the topic without these then edit it to add them and the topic will be in the correct forum.

Hmm. Not exactly intuitively obvious, in my opinion. But I'll try to remember that.

Agreed but the only way currently to guarantee creating a new topic in the intended forum!

Forum bugs seem to be around for quite some time now. This one is pretty annoying, but also probably really frustrating for new forum users or those who just aren't aware!
I'm also still frustrated with the threads going back to bolded (unread) at random times making it difficult to identify what I've read and/or responded too...
and the actual unread count not adding up most of the time in most of the threads...
oh, and the "mark all as read" still not working...
and not being able to filter my searches to find what I'm looking for based on some simple criteria like the main thread type (for example just Acronis 2019 or Acronis 2020 and within a certain time frame).
:(

Or not being able to quote the original posting of a thread.
But the most irritating part of the "No attachments in the OP" to those not knowing about it is that there's no indication that anything went wrong ... except that the posting does not show up. I was just browsing around the forum list and ran into Off Topic. I didn't even know it existed. And there were two versions of the OP of this thread! [grumble, grumble, grumble]

Hello
I'm new user, currently on ATI 2020 trial and I have exact same problem - "Clean up versions" always says file missing (after few seconds of calculating file sizes) with FTP backups, which is false - I can succesfully restore files.
This bug does not apply to backups other than FTP.
Same behavior was present in ATI 2019.

I'm sort of relieved to see this is not just a problem for me. Given that, I did a little more diagnosis.
I captured a packet trace of ATI's communication with my FTP server while requestion Cleanup data. As usual, I can make no sense of ATI's use of FTP, but I see a few strange things.
- As is typical of ATI FTP, it starts a new control connection for each FTP backup file it wants to look at. (A very time consuming and unneeded behavior.)
- ATI issues the "OPTS MLST Size;Modify;Create;Type;" command that is not supported by the FTP server I'm using - whatever in is Synology DSM. This may make ATI unable to parse MLST replies.
- ATI asks for the size of a backup file and then starts retrieving the file. But it resets the connection after receiving 11 or 12 K of data. This is repeated for every FTP file in the backup.
Maybe this is all according to ATI's logic but it certainly looks odd.
I've never had any luck getting ATI support to look at packet traces, but I may open a ticket about this problem anyway. Hopefully they can reproduce it on their own system and use whatever tools they prefer.

Little bit off topic, but I notice that Backup 12.5 uses SFPT rather than FPT. Wonder why it has not been adopted in ATI.

Can only guess it is not in the Acronis priority list for ATI to implement Secure FTP even tho' users have been asking for it for some years!

I would say that FTP of any flavor is not a high priority for ATI. They also have not fixed so serious and long standing bugs in their regular FTP support.
