Full backups stop. Can't find hard drive. Doc backups continue.
I'm an IT consultant. I put TI 2020 on a clients computer a few years ago. I checked the status of the backups today and saw that the full backups stopped backing up around the middle of June of 2021. All the doc backups kept on backing up. I've found that on other computers too. June of last year suddenly the full backups stopped working. Last backup on one I just checked was 6-22-21.
There used to be a problem where suddenly Acronis couldn't find the backup drive even though the drive was there with the same drive letter. I thought that was fixed in the 2019 version. Does anyone know why this still occurring?
Thanks,
Al

Ian, thanks for your reply.
My document backups of files and folders always works. The full drive backup suddenly stops after a few backups and stays stopped. In the case of one client I put in two document backups on two drives and four full disk backups, one per week, again on two internal drives. It's infuriating to get on a clients computer a year after setting up the backup and seeing it's stopped after one full and one incremental backup. Doc backups are fine. Many of my clients pay me very little or nothing. I cannot monitor Acronis on their computer to see if they stopped backing up for no reason.
Thanks,
Al

Alan, the only suggestion I can make is to capture an Acronis System Report (zip file) from one (or more) of the client where the backups stopped working correctly and sharing that with us here in the forum (via a cloud share link). This would capture all the logs and hopefully throw more light on what the issue was that caused the backup to stop?
There were some issues caused by the Acronis Dashboard servers over the past year that impacted on lots of users where backup settings were reset to default options with no automatic cleanup enabled. This in turn caused a number of issues including changing the destination locations for some users from NAS to their C: drive and then filling the drive etc.
This was an Acronis issue - see forum topic: True Image 2020 -Backup option settings loss
In terms of remedies to avoid being hit by this same issue (assuming that Acronis don't take action to ensure it never happens again!) then you can do the following:
Open Windows Services (services.msc) and set the Acronis Managed Machine Service Mini from Automatic start to Manual start (or Disabled).
In the ATI GUI (assuming you have a Perpetual license) sign out from your Acronis Account.
Doing the above should prevent the Acronis Online Dashboard servers from sending out any data that would result in resetting your Backup task options back to defaults again!

Not enjoying autumn. I'm in Melbourne, Australia, and we are moving into Spring. That is OK except that it is claimed that Melbourne is the worst place in the world for hay fever. Not that it makes much difference to me as I seem to have hay fever all year.
@Steve Smith is located in the UK so he may have something to report of autumn!
