Global Changes to Multiple Backups
I have 9 backup jobs that cover my main PC as well as the critical stuff on my NAS. The options for each are identical, the target location is identical ... the real difference between each of them is the source that I am backing up.
The current target location is a folder (Set00) on a 3TB blue WD HDD (mapped to Q). This HDD actually has several related folders (Set00 thru Set08) and every Wednesday night, I move the contents of SetXX to folder SetXX+1 (Set08 gets flushed).
The Wed night backup is a full backup while the other nights are incremental.
Typically, when one HDD gets filled, I remove that HDD and replace it with an identical 3TB blue WD HDD.
This is where my set up hits an annoying snag. The Acronis backup up jobs can tell the difference between one 3TB WC blue HDD and another. Every Wed night, I get this sort of email ...

2020-09-23T02:55:46:290-04:00 17524 I00640000: Writing full version to file: 3.2 General_full_b1_s1_v1.tib
Basically, it couldn't find Tuesday's file, it complains but then gets over it and creates a new, full backup.
But on the days that I swap out the HDD, it fails to find the HDD and just stops.
I was experimenting with taking my HDD offline (it is in a hot-swap stat location) and even taking it offline and then activating it was enough to cause my backups to fail.
My workaround here is to click on the target icon, edit Q:\Set00 by deleting one of the '0's and reading it, saving and then running the backup.
This is boring and slightly annoying - lots of Acronis wheel spinning as it executes this non-change.
So ... here is my question ... is there a way of tagging multiple backups and resetting all of them to a different (same) target location? In fact, and more generally, I would like to see the ability to save a generic set of options (and the target location) and then telling each backup job to use the same generic set.

Steve - thanks for the post. I can understand what you are saying. I already have 9 backup tasks. I run a 3 disk rotation ... and that would mean 27 backup tasks. I am not going to do that.
I followed the link you provided (thankyou) ... it referenced someone trying to do something similar with USB sticks. They ended up creating multiple backup plans and using a batch file to interrogate which USB was attached and then running the appropriate backup plan.
That said, the above and the link doesn't explain why Acronis complained when I took the same HDD offline and then back online ... there was no HDD change.
I might cut my backup tasks down to 2 (C drive and NAS info) and just have to manually change the target when I swap HDDs.
