How to get access to backups after hardware change

Thread solved

Hi!

My server was broken. I copied all hard drives that also contain Acroniss True Image backups to the new system.
How can I get access to the backups now.
I used to be able to mount a backup as a drive!

On all PCs in the network that store their backups on the server, I now have to change the paths to the backups on the new server and leave the other settings. I cannot find out how that works.

Thanks in advance!
Horst

Horst, what actual Acronis software is in use here / was used to create the backups on the server?

Assuming you have been using ATI 2020 as per this forum, then the options for your PC's would be:

  1. Set up the server to use the same IP address / name as the broken server, which if possible should render the server visible again to the client PC's and allow them to access their backups on the server.

  2. You will need to go to each individual PC, remove the existing backup task (which cannot be changed when the original destination is no longer available!).
Then use the option to 'Add existing backup' (found behind the caret 'v' to the right of the normal + Add backup option), then select the most recent backup file from the new server location.  This will add back a task using the file name selected which then will need to be reconfigured before can be continued to be used.
