How to move .tibx backups
I'm about to replace a NAS drive containing ATI backups. I need to move these files to a new NAS. No problem for the .tib backups; I can use the ATI "Move" function. But what approach do I use for the .tibx files?
- Do I just delete the old backup task and start over with a new task with a new destination?
- Do I delete the task (keeping the files) and try to add an existing backup?
Getting a Move function for .tibx backups would sure be handy about now.

Patrick, I would be inclined to go with approach 2 unless the backups are redundant to your needs.

I think all backups are redundant until you need them. :) But you have a good point. I have two computers running ATI 2020. The "test" PC I used during the Beta test has backups on USB-attached drives; I don't really need the backups on the NAS. A laptop I got during the Beta test has all its daily and weekly backups to the NAS, but I occasionally attach an external drive and take a backup. I could live without NAS-based backups, but I'd feel more comfortable keeping them.

I'd go with option #2 as well. Worse case, as long as you have the backups somewhere, anywhere, and they aren't corrupted, you can always use your rescue media with them. Rescue media doesn't care about any internal database stuff - just the content of the backup files (well, that and the new supplemental metadata in the .tibx chain). Hopefully though, removing the task and then adding it back in via "add existing backup" would get it into the console... you'd then update the task details (backup type, schedule, source, destination, etc.) and the job would continue on.
