How to stop Acronis running?

Thread needs solution

I  started a backup of my C drive with Acronis, to my external 6GB HDD. I  realised I made a mistake in selecting the VSS drivers, so I pressed Stop Now within 60 seconds of the backup starting.

The program screen went light grey, a rotating circle appeared indicating something was in progress. Unable to operate any other button on the screen other than the X on the top RH corner. An hour later it was still running.

I shut the program down with Task Master, ending every Acronis active task.and rebooted the PC. Restarted Acronis, and it is still in the Stop process loop.

What has gone wrong, and how do I  do this properly in future?

regards to all,

PJ

Peter, this is a situation where you may have to either wait for the task to stop / fail, or else delete the task!

You can try using the Acronis Scheduler Manager tool to remove all scheduled tasks by issuing a 'task zap' so that the task does not get restarted after doing a shutdown / restart of Windows.

For a disk backup task, then you need to stop the Backup_Worker process along with TrueImage.exe.
