I am having problems creating a bootable USB disk with Acronis Media Creator
In Acronis 2020, there is a problem creating an external USB disk image for booting, therefore I will write a guide on how this is done correctly:
In Microsoft Windows 8 , 10, or later:
1. Open Acronis True Image 2020
2. Click Tools, left side.
3. Open Acronis Media Builder
4. Choose Simple. Make note that even though you have a formated USB drive inserted in your USB port, that "Plug in your External Drive is grey, this is the problem. Please continue reading.
5. Choose ISO File creation, that's the first choice here.
6. Choose where you woud like to save the file AcronisBootablePEMedia.iso. I recommend the Downloads folder on local disk C.
7. Create the ISO to this folder location by clicking Save and Proceed button. The proceed button is green now.
8. Once the ISO is created right-click the ISO file and choose Open with, Windows Explorer. The disk will now mount as a virtual DVD disc in your "This PC" main computer nav folder.
9. Open This PC in Windows to view your drives.
10. Double-click the DVD disc to explore it, and press Ctrl + A to select all. Next press Ctrl +C to copy all.
11. Open your External USB drive in another window and Ctrl +V to copy all into the harddisk.
Note: Do not create any additional folders in your USB harddisk, and note that the size of the FAT32 partition should be approximately, and not much larger than 2048MB (2GB partition size).
Fileformat: FAT32.
I hope this helped those of you who could not create an external boot disk in Acronis 2020.
Enjoy.
Sincerely,
Michael aka. Exsosus
A true Acronis fan.
