Thread needs solution

Hello,

Any help would  be greatly appreciate any help you can give me.

I am moving from a Dell 5540 to a used HP Zbook G5 computer and have had no luck in creating a Universal Drive to restore with HP Drivers.  The HP drivers continually fail when adding drivers that some path is not included in the service packs.

Please can you shed some light on what I am doing wrong?

Hello!

Have you tried performing the process with the WinPE bootable media instead of Linux? Also, make sure to obtain drivers from the hardware producer and add them manually if needed. Note that you can add the drivers later when you apply Acronis Universal Restore to a machine, not specifically when you create the AUR. Ensure that all the steps in the following KB is being followed:

Best regards.

Brad, welcome to these public User Forums.

I would recommend editing your initial post above and removing your telephone and email details - these are public forums and your contact details could be harvested by spammers etc!

Definitely go the route of creating & using Windows PE based rescue media and try just making a full disk Backup image from your Dell 5540 and restoring this to your new HP Zbook using the standard Acronis rescue media created using the 'Simple' option before you worry about Acronis Universal Restore media & drivers etc.

If you are migrating Windows 10 or 11 from the Dell 5540 then Windows is vastly better at detecting new hardware than earlier versions, so it is possible that AUR may not be needed if Windows can boot successfully on the HP.
