Lost files, maybe?
I had backups using True Image 2021, and still have the backup files. I upgraded to Cyber Protect Home Office, then my PC died. I have been trying to access my saved backups, but Cyber Protect doesn't recognize them. NOTE: They are stored on a hard drive (non-system, data only) I removed from the old PC.
I NEED those files. How do I get them back?
Thanks in advance,
Paul Cote

Hi Steve - I'm having a similar problem - back up all my docs daily with ATI 2021 - each backup is validated. Now I need to restore the most recent backup and ATI 2021 cannot locate it, though it (the .tib file) does appear in Windows Explorer. I've tried restoring directly from Win Explorer by right clicking on the file, but that simply opens ACT 2021 which will not navigate to the location of the stored backup Any suggestions?

William, welcome to these public User Forums.
If you double-click in Explorer on any TIB or TIBX file, then it should open in Explorer without launching ATI. Right-clicking on the file should show a menu with an option for Acronis True Image / ACPHO with further options to Mount or Validate.
If your docs backup task is shown in the ATI GUI, then the Recovery panel should show you all the dates / times when any incremental backups were created in a drop-down list. If this list doesn't show the expected file you are wanting to use, then you can try using the option in the main GUI to 'Add existing backup' and select the missing file from its storage location.
See KB 63240: Acronis True Image 2020: how to restore files from a backup (Windows) - and scroll down the document to the section showing how to open .tibx or .tib files in Explorer by double-clicking on the files.

Hi Steve - thanks for getting back to me ... I apologize for not replying sooner - life got in the way.
I had previously tried the solutions you outlined - none of them worked, which is why I posted the question. The only rationale I can think of for my problem is maybe a corrupted file? But the file was only a few days old, and I experienced the same problem trying with other .tib files that were just a few days older. I had previously (1 day earlier) restored the entire C drive without a problem from a backup made 1 month ago, so I simply wanted to restore my documents from a .tib file which was just 2 days old, and that's when I ran into the problem. I began to think that the problem was in the ATI 2021 program - it just didn't seem to recognize my documents backup .tib file. So I upgraded (at minimal cost) to ACPHO - still no go. But, I installed ACPHO over 2021 - should I have uninstalled 2021 first???

Upgrading from ATI 2021 to ACPHO without uninstalling the former is not a problem, it is only the older versions where Acronis recommend doing an uninstall first.
For your docs .tib file, is there an associated backup task shown in the ACPHO Backup list in the GUI - if not, then try using the 'Add existing backup' option which is found under the caret 'v' to the right of the normal + Add backup option, then select the .tib file.

Again, thanks for getting back to me. At this time, its kind of a moot point ... I decided that my 11 year old Lenovo just didn't have the "umph" to do what i wanted, so I've bought a new Dell with Win 11. We'll see how that goes ...
Thanks again.
