"Managed Machine Service Mini" messes up AutoCAD orbiting and mouse movements

Thread needs solution

I have been chasing down a problem with what I thought was AutoCAD and Nvidia related for a few months. It ended up being an Acronis issue. Since I am past my one year though I can't report this to tech support. I have to do it here I guess.

I went through a lot of help from AutoDesk first and then Nvidia to try to solve a very jumpy cursor and horrible performance when orbiting in 3D. Different drivers and software installations. Ended up being one service from Acronis, the "Acronis Managed Machine Service Mini". In order to use AutoCAD in 3D I have to disable this service from starting.

Anyone know of a fix so I can still have backups?

Lorne, welcome to these public User Forums.

The only option you have if you are using ATI 2020 (as per this forum) is to set the MMSM service to be either Disabled or Manual start in the main Windows Services control panel.

I would suggest submitting Feedback to Acronis via the option in the ATI GUI to let them know about this issue but you would need to demonstrate that it happens on the current version ATI 2021 to take this any further.

Stopping the MMSM service should not affect your ability to use ATI to make backups as its main purpose is to communicate with the Acronis Dashboard servers.

Thank you Steve for replying. I sent a feedback to them via the GUI so I'll wait to see what happens. I certainly don't want to upgrade if this issue is still there so I guess it's a bit of a catch 22.

Glad to know that it won't affect the operation. I noticed the icon in the bottom right corner of my screen is now light grey and doesn't have any text popup over it anymore. When I start ATI from the start menu it seems to start fine.
