Merging partitions on an External Drive

Thread needs solution

Can Acronis True Image merge two partitions on an external hard drive?  External as in it's a cloned drive that I cannot access the new 'real estate' because of a windows partition that's in the middle.  I was hoping that I could access the drive as an external and do what needs done then put it back into the system from which it came.

Hello David.

Acronis True Image primarily focuses on backup and recovery tasks. Merging partitions usually involves modifying the file system and partition table, which might require a different tool.

If you're dealing with an external hard drive with partitions that you want to merge, you might need to use a disk management or partitioning tool. Here are some general steps you might consider:

There are various third-party partitioning tools available that can help you merge partitions. Examples include EaseUS Partition Master, MiniTool Partition Wizard, or GParted.

It's advisable to perform a FULL backup before executing this.

Best regards.
