Migrating Tibx files

Thread solved

I am sure this has been covered before but I could either not find it or could not see as answering my question. So please bear with me.

I have my current boot drive tibx backup files on my internal derive called D Drive. I now have a Synology NAS and want these backups moved to a directory called Acronis Backup Directory on my NAS. Not sure what the steps are - any advice will be appreciated.

Sujit, I would suggest the following approach for this type of migration:

  1. Make notes of the current backup task configuration settings (these will be needed later).

  2. Select the backup task, then take the Delete option from the task menu, but select to only remove the task settings.  Do not select to delete everything i.e. the files!

  3. Copy the backup files to your Synology NAS folder, ensuring that you copy all the .tibx files, including any 12kb files that hold vital metadata.

  4. Use the option to 'Add existing backup' (found to the right of the normal '+ Add backup' behind a caret 'v').  Navigate to your NAS folder, providing the required NAS account credentials for access, and selecting the most recent .tibx file for the task.
This will add back a task in the main GUI using the file name.

  5. In the main GUI, select the new / added task and click on Reconfigure then set the Source and Options again for this task.
