Modem reboots when backup is running

Thread needs solution

Hi. I know this has been discussed elsewhere but I can't find a definitive outcome.

The modem is a TP link and has been functioning well. Recently it started shutting down repeatedly during an ATI backup process. There are 4 PC's on the network and all are doing to the same thing to the modem.

Hope someone can help

Cheers

Dayle, welcome to these public User Forums.

Sorry but I have not seen any mention of modem usage in these forum for many years and haven't used a modem for probably even longer time!

What version of Acronis are you using here?  Is it ATI 2020 as per this forum, or different?

How is the modem involved here?  Are you backing up over a modem connection?

How is the modem connected to the PC doing the backup operation?

Hi Steve

Firstly apologies for the tardiness in response. I must have used a different email address and didn't check it. I did fix the problem which appeared to be some issue with the modem that warranted a replacement (it's actually a gateway but old habits die hard?). The backups are to a NAS unit which lives on the same network as the rest of the PCs. It seemed to be some conflict with it's IP address which is not something I've seen before. What I did find is a client had a router running on the network with DHCP enabled which is my best guess. Either way, the new ISP supplied gateway fixed it (as well as a quiet word in the perpetrators ear).

Cheers
