moving backups into new Acronis Secure Zone ?

Thread needs solution

Hello all

My PC Win 10 and Acronis True Image 2020

I do have a drive G: (NTFS) with several Acronis backups

can I:

a) make it a Secure Zone while the backups remain or

b)

- move the backups to a different drive temporarily

- create a Secure Zone on G:

- move the backups back to the Secure Zone

Sorry but the answer to both questions is no!

When you create an ASZ it will not convert an existing drive but will take space from that drive in order to create a new FAT32 type partition.

You cannot move or copy existing backup files into an ASZ - you would have to create new backups with the ASZ as the destination due to the way in which ASZ works and the naming conventions it uses.

Personally, I would keep your existing G: NTFS partition as a backup location.  ASZ is not really that much more secure as is just a modified FAT32 partition with the size limitation of max 4GB files allowed.
