Multiple smae error messages if destination not available

If the backup destination is not available (e.g. because I am on a laptop out of the house and have no network access) I am getting 6 times the same error messes ("The initial full backup version is not accessible at the moment") . I think TI tries it 6 times within 3 minutes. One time would be sufficient. Is there a way to limit to one error message?

welcome to these public User Forums.

Are you using ATI 2020 (as per this forum)?

If so, then take a look at the new 'Wi-Fi networks for backup' option added to the main Settings page.  This is primarily intended for backups to the Acronis Cloud but would be worth checking if it would help with your own backups too?

Otherwise you would need to use a small Pre Command script for your backup task which checks for your local network before continuing with the backup task, aborting the task if the check doesn't succeed.

In the Advanced options for the task, turn off the Error handling option too.

The advanced Error options default to retry five times at 30 second intervals fully explains the 6 errors in 3 minutes. You can change that.

Thank you Bruno and Steve for your help. "Advanced Error options" is the place to go :-)

Be aware that you can eliminate the attempted retrials with the Advanced Error option, but you will still get that first failure.  With the 'Wi-Fi networks for backup' option that Steve mentioned you can eliminate that first attempt ... if you are using WiFi.  If you are out of the house but using an Ethernet connection (or are "tethered" to a phone) you will still get that first failure.
