Thread needs solution

Hello.

There is a problem with TI 2020 from Akronis - does not mount the disk, but opens it.

The disk image (.tib) is located on macbook's hdd. On the MacBook, VmWare is installed and there is a virtual PC with Windows 7. Acronis TI is installed on Windows. In this virtual PC, via "Shared Folders" (in read only mode) access to the folder with the .tib file on the MacBook hdd. This image (.tib) is opened through Windows Explorer, the files are visible, you can copy. When you try to mount this image, Acronis True Image loads, but nothing happens. In the main window of the ATI "Backup" program, the "Backups" section, each time the above copy of the .tib is added under the name "Untitled" and below the inscription VmWare-host. If you right-click and select "Search for files", a window will open with the title "Path: \\vmware-host\\Shared Folders" and will be prompted to enter Login and Password.

That's all I've learned.

How do I fix this and mount the disk image?

Hi, a lot of variables here to be considered. It could be an issue with the configuration of VMWare (I know relatively little about VMWare); or it could be a complex interaction between MAC OS, VMWare, and Windows 7. I know nothing of MAC.

Please confirm if ATI 2020 is running under MAC OS (what version of MAC OS are you using) or in the Windows VM. If the latter, there may be something in the log file that may be of assistance.

Just occurred to me that you may not be using the correct procedure to mount a disk image; you do not double click on the image file, you right click on the file, and select Acronis Tue Image and select Mount from the pop-out.

MVP Steve Smith has put together the following information on how to find the relevant log files:

There is a new MVP Assistant log viewer tool that has now been made available by Acronis via the Community Tools page..

If you have Disks & Partitions backups created on ATI 2020 or later using .tibx files, then look in the Backup Worker logs.

If you have Files & Folders backups using .tib files (or Disk backups from earlier versions using .tib files) then look in the Demon logs.

Other logs are shown by the MVP Assistant under the 'Active Logs' heading of the Log Viewer page of the Assistant.

Not sure which log file would record attempts to mount a disk image (you can only mount disk images, not files and folders backups).

Hope this helps
