Non Stop Backup failed with "Access to cloud file denied" error.

Thread needs solution

I have always found the NSB task unreliable in previous versions of TIH but thought I'd give it another shot as I have a new clean install of W10 (2004) on a new super fast NVME drive and only recently upgraded from TIH2019 to 2020.

I have an empty 2TB Internal HDD designated Drive N for the sole purpose of being the NSB destination.

Created the NSB task and it wasnt very long before I got this incongruous error message ""Access to cloud file denied". I dont use Acronis cloud so dont understand why I got this error.

Has anyone else had this issue?

Thanks for your time and any info.

B R, does your NSB source data include any OneDrive files or folders?  If yes, are you using the Files on Demand feature?  This is likely to be the cause of the error message as ATI cannot handle the reparse points used by such files / folders from OneDrive.

Hi Steve

Yes One Drive was included. I thought the One Drive issue was supposed to have been resolved fromprevious versions?

I deselected One Drive from the source files and ran the task again only for it to fail again. I checked the source selections again and found One Drive ticked even though I had previoulsy deselected it.

I'll try creating a new task and adding One Drive to the exclusions and see if that fixes it.

Thanks.

BR, see KB 61362: Acronis True Image: Error when backing up or recovering OneDrive folder which still applies to ATI 2021 unless you have an Advanced or Premium subscription and use the options to backup to the Acronis Cloud.

See KB 65641: Difference between Acronis Cyber Protect 15 and Acronis True Image 2021 which shows this in the lower section.
