PC wont boot up

Thread needs solution

I appreciate this is not the correct forum but there’s no Acronis True Image 2021 forum. I’m currently using a Win10 Pro pc with ATI 2021 Build 39216 installed.

The other day I decided to make a bootable media disk which I successfully created but somehow, I think I’ve inadvertently installed Acronis Startup Recovery Manager as well, now when the pc starts up it presents the following message.

>>Checking media Presence……..

>>Media present……..

>>Start PXE over IPv4.

and then halts, I’ve tried altering the boot sequence so I can boot into safe mode but evidently whatever I’ve done loads before anything else. Through a process of elimination, I’ve discovered whatever I’ve downloaded / installed is on a HDD used for exclusively for large Acronis backups. Can anyone offer advice as to how I can resolve the problem. I can remove the effected HDD and then mount it via USB but I need to know what has been installed so I can remove it. Sorry for my stupidity.

Just from your description above, it sounds like you may have created an Acronis Survival Kit boot partition on your second internal HDD and that drive is listed ahead of the Windows drive in the BIOS boot settings.

If you have an UEFI BIOS boot system, then the first boot option should be 'Windows Boot Manager' from the OS boot drive.

If you have a Legacy BIOS boot system, then it will be the OS boot drive by make / model for the first entry.

The OS boot drive should always show as Disk 0 by virtue of the SATA controller / port connection, so it is possible that your second HDD has been connected to that port instead, swapping the SATA cable over may resolve the boot issue if that is the case.

Thanks for that Steve I know when I checked the UEFI BIOS Windows Boot Manager was first on the list but thinking about it the drive order wasn't displayed so I'll check later on and get back to you.
