question on Restoring disk and partition. Now trying “acronis survival kit” and “usb bootable acronis”

Thread needs solution

Now, i am using Acronis 2021 and question is STILL on “restoring disk and partition.” (of my packaged PC)

Previously i was using Acronis bootable CD (2019) for backing up and restoring my system and they have been working very fine.

My system to backup (and restore)  consists of

[check] NTFS (windows) (C:)

[check] EFI System Partition

[check] Recovery Partition

One day perhaps, CD will be “less frequently used” and things are run more using “bootable USB thumbdrive” and “bootable external harddisk”- like the “acronis survival kit”

I have created the “acronis survival kit” and the “USB bootable media” -using the “rescue media builder” from the acronis 2021 version.

I am able to create backup image using the “acronis survival kit” and “USB bootable media”,

But i have been afraid to restore my system coz they look “slightly different from the restoring from bootable 2019 CD”. Thus,  wish to ask the experts from this forum, on whether i do it correctly.

THIS is the final Summary page,  just before when i press “proceed”, when i do the Restore using acronis 2019 bootable cd (This one, i have NO problem)

See pic

And THIS

Is the final Summary page just before when using the “bootable USB thumbdrive from Acronis 2021”

(Up to here ONLY and have NOT dared to click “proceed” button)

And this (below) is when i try to restore using the “acronis survival kit, 2021 version”

As you can see, the final Summary page is “slightly differ”, when i use the “bootable 2019 CD” (the one i am very familiar and got no problem) , and when i use the “bootable thumbdrive USB” and when i use the “acronis survival kit”

The big question that i have is

THOUGH THE SUMMARY PAGE SLIGHTLY DIFFER, AREN’T THEY THE SAME actually?

Can i just click “proceed”?

Any comments or inputs will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance

m i,

Your screenshots look to me like the old bootable CD you have is a Linux based version of the Recovery Media whereas the bootable thumb drive and Survival Kit are what you see when a WinPE/RE based media is used.

Acronis no longer uses the the Linux based media as a default base due to WinPE/RE having better driver compatibility.

Even though these appear slightly different in recovery step order, both are doing the same thing when restoring the image.

It is recommended that before you make a recovery that you use Windows chkdsk utility to check for disk errors on all disk partitions so that any errors that exist can be corrected prior to the recovery procedure.  Unlettered partitions must have a letter temporarily assigned to them to perform this task.
