Recovering individual files from backup

Thread needs solution

I'm trying to recover some data files from a friend's pc, which no longer exists, just the backup on an external drive. In this case it's an old Antec external  USB 2.0 drive. I want to put those files on a flash drive so she can transfer them to her laptop. The issue that I'm having is that the only way I seem to be able to do this is copy and paste each individual file, which means giving permission to access the backup archive 2x per file, copy and paste. This is impossibly slow and cumbersome. I don't really have the space on my Nand storage to make a VM and restore her backup to that. And I'm not totally certain how to do that, anyway. Is there better way than what I have been doing using Acronis Cyber Protect Home Office 2021. The original backup was done by Acronis True Image 2014.

Thanks,

Eric

Eric, welcome to these public User Forums.

See KB 65547: Acronis True Image 2021: how to restore files from a backup (Windows) and scroll down the page to 'How to restore files in File Explorer' which you should find easier to use if only wanting to recover some files, allowing you to use normal Copy & Paste commands.
