Reinstall ATI 2020

Thread solved

Hi!

Runing WIN 10, 8Go RAM, Intel I3, I was runing ATI 2020 then I had to change my HDD for an SSD

It was a very difficult task to recover my system and NO support from Acronis!

Since then I'm trying to re-install ATI according to the hundred of "do-it-yourself" solutions given by Acronis! and it fails everytime....

I got logs (useless for a normal user) which I cannot adress to an expert, Acronis has NO HUMAN SUPPORT! And I can't find any link for a chat line or any link for support (I'm even ready to pay for it, but no choice)

May be somebody in this group could read and understand the log files I'm stuck with...

Thank you for your help

The MSI log is showing a final error code of 1603 following on from an earlier fatal installation error for "Failed to perform the scheduler service setup operation".

See KB 59045: Acronis Software: Installation fails with "MainEngineThread is returning 1603" or "MainEngineThread is returning 1618" - for the specific error.

See KB 46710: Acronis True Image: Installation Fails in Windows - for general information in this area.

If you have been trying to install ATI 2020 multiple times, then I would recommend first running the Acronis Cleanup Tool (link below) to ensure that there is no left-over data from those prior install attempts, then doing a Windows restart to complete that cleanup.

See the following KB documents before attempting a new install.

KB 36429: Acronis Software: exclude program folders and executables from antivirus and other security programs

KB 46430: Acronis Software: Making Acronis Products Compatible with Antivirus Software

Thank you Steve, it worked!

By the way, I am using WLM for Email and I have a ACRONIS file where I store all the mails I exchanged with you guys over the years and what a surprise: the mails are there but none can be read anymore !! Strange, is it pure coincidence or is there an explanation I ignore?

Thanks again

Glad the advice helped you get ATI 2020 reinstalled again.

No idea about why your WLM emails should no longer be readable?  I have never used WLM and have been using Mozilla Thunderbird since Outlook Express was dropped after XP or maybe before XP itself was dropped!
