Remove SystemReport.zip

Thread needs solution

I'm trying to remove the SystemReport.zip file from C:\Program Files (x86)/Acronis/TrueImageHome, and I'm running into permission issues.  Even though I'm logged in as an Administrator, I still can't delete it.

Why they put it in the Program Files is a mystery in itself, that's not an appropriate place for it.

What's the secret handshake to remove this file?

John, you need to temporarily turn off Acronis Active Protection then you should be able to delete or move the zip file.

Apparently, that's not enough, I have had Active Protection off through multiple reboots.

John, unfortunately Acronis looks to have changed the rules for ATI 2021 and later versions in that regardless of having turned off all protection, they still keep the background Acronis Windows services running!

Your options here are:

Set the Acronis Active Protection service to Disabled automatic start and then restart the computer and try deleting the file again.

Boot the computer in Windows Safe Mode and do the delete via that method!

Turning protection off fully should mean exactly that but Acronis obviously disagree!

Apparently you're right Steve, I guess I'll do the safe mode boot next time I think of it and nuke it. :)
