Rescue Media won't boot

Thread needs solution

Good day folks,

I am using Acronis True Image for WD, downloaded from the WD website this month.  The software is functioning.

I have a Toshiba Satellite c870 with the latest BIOS installed.

I am having an issue I can't get my head around and I am hoping for some solutions after a couple of frustrating days.

I am attempting to clone the HDD to a WD SSD.  As Instructed I have created the Bootable media disc (tried 2 ways, burn to DVD and USB stick)

When I put the new drive in the laptop, and select to boot in BIOS from either of the above, nothing happens.  The drive (when using the DVD) whirs and spins for about a minute then stops: and it sits on a "Toshiba" opening graphic with the spinning dots, I have left it as such for 15 minutes or more with no activity.

If I remove the new drive and leave the bay empty, and boot from the DVD or USB the rescue media loads promptly as it should with full functionality... except of course there is no drive in the laptop to clone from the USB connected old HDD.

I am at a loss as to why it won't boot from the rescue source when the drive is in, as I have set the BIOS to boot from the media source first.

Any help would be appreciated, and I apologize if this has been covered before;  The search function here doesn't seem to work.

Darren

Dear Darren,
Thank you for reaching out. We bring apologies for the non-working search engine; we are aware of the problem and working on it.
Since you have OEM version of Acronis product, we would recommend contacting support of Western Digital, because support for the Acronis OEM software is handled through the company whose product contained the Acronis OEM software, as they are best equipped to understand the specific OEM application as well as the relationship between the Acronis software and their product. Acronis works closely with the OEM on investigating and solving issues that arise. To get support for an OEM version of Acronis product, please contact the hardware manufacturer. You can find more in the article: https://kb.acronis.com/content/2201

Besides that, we can suggest the article. Please check preconditions from cloning: Acronis Cyber Protect Home Office, Acronis True Image: how to clone a disk | Knowledge Base
