[RESOLVED] ATI-2020: backup speed to Acronis Cloud is disapointing
I bought ATI-2020 yesterday and my first attempts of doing full backups to Cloud disappoint me. I had installed Windows-10 (had Win-7 before) and just the bear minimum. I wanted to do a full backup of this before starting to install all my games and other stuffs. I started it and went checking something on TV. I came back 20 min later and saw it had not finished (was about at 10-20% done) and saying it would take it 6 hours to do backup 50Gb of data? Now today at noon (Saturday), I had reinstalled 95% of all my stuffs. I have around 220Gb of data to backup. I started a full backup again on Clouds. In 20 min it did 1.6Gb and estimated time of completion (finished being calculated 2 min later) says it would take 18h to do this full backup. Speed is fluctuating between 7 and 16Mbps. I live in Montreal, Canada and the Cloud server region is United States. I have a 30Mbps internet cable speed and never have speed issues. So what is wrong here? Is this the kind of average speed I will get everytime? Kinda makes me regret getting this Cloud backup solution. Up until now, I was just backing up to an external USB HD and that usually takes 2.5 hours for 200GB aprox.

Hummm, you have a point. I did not even thought about that.
I checked and my upload sped is 10Mbps.
So with that kind of upload, I see no point in using a Cloud backup solution, unless I want to dedicated a whole weekend just doing that.
I am betting that a lot of folks haven thought about that either.
Thx for pointing that out.
Acronis should put up a strong note in their Cloud advertisement saying "Please check your upload speed before and do this calculation *LINK* to determine if it is a viable solution for you". Otherwise a lot of people are just going to pollute the forums trashing the Cloud backup speed.
