Restart required while cloning disk.

Thread needs solution

I am trying to clone my SSD to a NVME M.2
This is exactly what I am doing
I open Acronis True Image WD Edition
1.I click Clone Disk
2.I click on next leaving it on auto
3.I select my Sata SSD and click next
4.I then click on my NVME and click next
5.The summary page appears and I click Proceed
6.A popup appears requiring restart so I click restart
The PC restarts and then nothing. If I try again it does the exact same thing again

William,

The reason for the restart is likely that your current SATA SSD boots in Legacy CSM (BIOS) mode, NVMe drives require that they formatted as GPT and boot via UEFI so, the reboot is an attempt by the application to enter into an offline environment (Linux) to attempt to complete this conversion.

Unfortunately I suspect there is little chance of that working.  The way forward is to create a Full disk backup image of your SATA drive and the restore that image onto the NVMe drive using the bootable Rescue Media that you can create with the Media Builder tool that comes with the True Image application.  The key here is that you must setup your machine to boot via UEFI prior to using the Rescue Media so that you can boot that media in USFI mode which then will allow for the conversion from Legacy to UEFI boot.
