Restauration très lente

Thread needs solution

Bonjour,

J’utilise un PC équipé comme suit :

Processeur : QuadCore Intel Core i7-930, 2933 MHz (22 x 133)

Mémoire système : 6135 Mo  (DDR3 SDRAM)

C: (NTFS)         Crucial_CT256MX100SSD1  (256 Go, SATA-III)

F: (NTFS)         Samsung M3 Portable SCSI Disk Device  (931 Go)

Hello,

I am using a PC equipped as follows:

Processor: QuadCore Intel Core i7-930, 2933 MHz (22 x 133)

System memory: 6135 MB (DDR3 SDRAM)

C: (NTFS) Crucial_CT256MX100SSD1 (256 GB, SATA-III)

F: (NTFS) Samsung M3 Portable SCSI Disk Device (931 GB)

It is running on Windows 10 and I am using Acronis True Image 2021 Build 39216 to perform the full system backup. This operation takes approximately 1 hour for 100 GB.

The restoration requires at least 4 hours which seems unusually long to me.

How can I remedy this difficulty?

Thank you for your help

Yvon, welcome to these public User Forums.

There could be various reasons why the restore could be much slower than the backup operation.

The backup was probably done from within Windows 10 where it is able to take full advantage of the VSS snapshot service along with system caching / pagefile usage etc.

The restore has to be performed outside of Windows, so does not have access to the features used during the backup, so is limited to the memory available and connection speed for the backup storage drive where the backup image is being read from.

6GB of system memory seems an odd number as would seem to imply you have 2 memory modules of different sizes?  Increasing the memory to 8GB or 16GB would improve overall performance.

The Samsung M3 Portable SCSI Disk Device should be connected to a USB 3.x port for best performance if not already so connected (or a USB - C port if it has that connection option).
