Sauvegarde differentielle

Thread needs solution

Bonjour

Merci d'avance

A full backup is always required before any differential or incremental one.

Good morning and thanks for your help. But I had already consulted the manual. it says 'If you select the Do not schedule option, you will need to run the backup task manually each time using the Backup Now button'. So do you have to do a full backup first if so how do you configure the options for differential backups?

The Schedule option does not impact on the type of backup being created - it only dictates whether the backup task is performed automatically or is triggered by the user manually.

You need to select the Differential option for the Backup Scheme settings if that is the process you want to use for your backups.

An initial Full backup will be created if there is no such existing file, then further backups will be differential according to the settings for the scheme, i.e. in the image, a new Full backup would be created after making 5 Differential backups.

Differential backups will increase in size as more are created hence why you should not make too many of these before starting a new version chain with a new full backup.
